A small addition

Just made this to top off the Christmas tree:

Of course, it's cut from a Coca-Cola can :)

Bigger is better

So, this is where we left off:

Seven cans high and seven cans wide. Hmm, I think I can do better than that. And so I started to think on how I could add more layers to the tree. This was one of the first ideas that came to me:

I started building the lower 'ring'.

Two can wide.
And this is how it should look when it will be finished.

The lower 2 layers that will be added.

There we go! It looks a lot better than it did before.

It's almost there

Below you'll see some pictures spanning 4-5 days. To kick it off, here you have the 3rd and 4th layers already attached.

Top side view.

Layer 5. Notice my two favorite tools: Superglue and superglue activator (dries the superglue in mere seconds - as opposed to ten or more if you'd leave it to dry in air).

Layer 6. Almost there...

Dun dun duuuunn! Layer 7, comprised of a single, majestic Coca Cola can.

With the stand attached.

Ahh, c'est magnifique! But wait, there's more to come... Stay tuned.

A few more steps along...

Here I've already started to add some of the layers.

In the lower right side corner you can see a placeholder 'tree' stand, made out of 4 Dr Pepper cans. I eventually made another one out of Coke cans, seeing that the original didn't rise up to my expectations.

In the picture below you can see the first two layers sitting on top of the tree stand.
